1. About This Service

Aggarwal Heritage (aggarwalheritage.com) is a private digital portal for the Aggarwal community, operated by Amit Singla (“we”, “us”, “our”). It lets families preserve their genealogy, rituals, oral histories, and cultural heritage in a shared, private space.

By creating an account or using this service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility & Account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use this service. Users under 18 should have parental consent.
• You must be a member of the Aggarwal community or be invited by one.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information when signing up. Accounts created with false information may be suspended.
• Each person should have only one account. Do not create duplicate accounts.

3. Your Content

You retain ownership of all family data, photos, audio recordings, and other content you upload (“Your Content”). By uploading it you grant us a limited licence to store, display, and process it solely to provide the service to you and your family members.

• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you upload (photos, audio, text about other people).
• We do not sell or share Your Content with third parties for advertising.
• When you delete your account we will delete Your Content within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes anyone's rights.
• Impersonate any person or falsify family relationships.
• Attempt to access family trees or accounts you have not been invited to.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or abuse the platform in ways that degrade it for others.
• Use the service for commercial purposes unrelated to your family heritage.

5. AI Features

Some features use Anthropic Claude AI:

• Ritual structuring — voice recordings you submit are transcribed and structured by Claude into step-by-step ritual guides.
• Image import — photos of handwritten family trees you upload are analysed by Claude to extract family member names and relationships.

Content sent to Claude is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not use your content to train AI models. Do not upload sensitive personal data (e.g. financial records, medical history) to AI-powered features.

6. Payments & Subscriptions

Some features may require a paid subscription. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Subscription plans, pricing, and refund policies will be displayed at the point of purchase.

Donations made through the portal go entirely to community and social causes and are not refundable.

7. Email Communications

We send transactional emails (account confirmation, access approval, family invitations) and, if you set them up, birthday and anniversary reminder emails. You can unsubscribe from reminder emails at any time using the link at the bottom of each reminder. Transactional emails cannot be opted out of while your account is active.

8. Service Availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, modify features, or suspend the service at any time. We will endeavour to give notice of significant planned downtime.

9. Intellectual Property

The Aggarwal Heritage name, logo, design, and original written content on the platform (rituals, historical articles, heritage pages) are our intellectual property. You may not reproduce them without written permission. The genealogical and family content you and your family add remains yours.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your access ends immediately and Your Content will be deleted within 30 days.

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for the accuracy of family data entered by users. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes we will notify registered users by email and update the effective date above. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi, India.
